What You Just Did (and What It Means)
If you prayed to trust Jesus as your Savior, here's what the Bible says actually happened:

• You're forgiven. "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." (1 John 1:9)
• You're a new creation. "If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come." (2 Corinthians 5:17)
• You're secure. Salvation isn't based on your feelings or performance; it's based on what Jesus already did. "I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand." (John 10:28)

You may feel a lot right now, or you may feel nothing dramatic at all. Both are normal. Faith rests on the truth of what God did, not on emotion.


Core Beliefs

1. God exists as one God in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
2. The Bible is God's word, trustworthy and authoritative for faith and life.
3. Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man, born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, rose bodily from the dead, and will return.
4. Salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, not earned by good works (Ephesians 2:8-9).
5. The Christian life is one of ongoing repentance, growth, and love for God and others, empowered by the Holy Spirit.

If you have questions about any of this, that's expected, asking questions is part of growing, not a sign something's wrong.


Your Next Steps
1. Get a Bible and start reading. Start with the Gospel of John. It was written specifically to help people believe in Jesus (John 20:31). Read a little each day.
2. Talk to God every day. Prayer isn't formal. Tell God what's on your mind: thanks, struggles, questions, requests. He's listening.
3. Get connected to a local church. It's how you're meant to grow. Look for a church that:

• Teaches the Bible as true and authoritative
• Believes and preaches the core truths listed above
• Has people who will actually get to know you

4. Ask about baptism. Baptism is how Jesus told new believers to publicly identify with Him (Matthew 28:19). A local church can walk you through this.
5. Tell someone. Share what happened with a friend or family member. It solidifies your own faith and may open a door for someone else.


Common Questions
"What if I don't feel different?" Feelings follow; they don't lead. Keep reading, praying, and gathering with other believers. Growth is often gradual, not instant.
"What if I mess up right after this?" You will. Everyone does. Confession and repentance are lifelong practices, not a one-time entry fee. (1 John 1:9).
"How do I know I'm really saved?" Look for growing (not perfect) evidence over time: a desire to know God, conviction over sin, love for others, and a hunger for His word (1 John gives several tests like this). If you're unsure, talk to a pastor or mature believer, don't sit with that question alone.
